Where do I pick up from? Well it's been nearly 2 years exactly since my last blog post. In the back of my mind I've always missed it and kept meaning to come back to writing again. It's just life has gotten so busy and I haven't made the time for it. I miss it though. I miss capturing all the wonderful moments in our life that have taken place since then. I feel like I've missed out on documenting so many wonderful experiences that we've had and more so what's to come. So I'm making my first attempt to rejoin the blogging world and try to start documenting more.
Let's see what have I missed since my last post almost 2 years ago, I have to give some starting context - well for thing we brought our dream home last summer. It's been a whole year already. I can't even begin to fathom that we've been in our new home for over a year already. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of our life. We sold our starter town home and moved down to the 'burbs and less than 15 minutes away from Mike's parents which has been amazing!! We even put in a fence last weekend for Rocky so he can finally have a yard of his own to run around and play in. More to come on the house later, I'll have to do a recap at some point on what we've been working on. We're only now finally getting around to even having a 'housewarming' party next month.
We just returned from a European Adventure, covering Germany, Austria & the Czech Republic. Mike had to go to Salzburg for work and there was no way I was going to let him go all the way there without me that's for sure! Work has been insanely busy for the both of us. It's been two years already since Mike has left IBM and moved on to his current company, and even more so it's been nearly three years for me. Although in some ways mine often feels like a lifetime, I've lived through a lot already in my time that I've been there.
Our little Houdini as we've affectionately named him these days for all his escape attempts to break out of wherever we try to confine him to in the house is loving life and our best little companion. I can look over at him in his bed sleeping right next to me. We love that little pup so much that we went and fenced in the whole yard just for him. One lucky pup let me tell you.
Between work, the long commute for both of us, settling into the new house, teaching at the gym and all the other busy obligations we have going on, it's no wonder I've gotten away from updating my blog for so long. And as we prepare to enter the next phase of our lives together and expand our little family, I wanted to make sure that I don't miss out on anything. I want to remember it all, as I feel so grateful for the amazing family and friends, as well as all the amazing experiences we've had in our lives.
Here's to carving out and making the time for myself to start documenting our lives again as we start new chapters in our lives and family, I promise to start writing more again, as they say in the Aerosmith song - "I don't want to miss a thing." Home is where the heart is, and I know this house is where mine belongs, here's a picture of my two boys in our backyard <3
